Fake Mexiko

Intro

This recipe is my quick goto one when there is little time but big hunger. I really like it, because it is easy, fast and really filling. I also have in most cases the ingredients at home, since most of them is comming from a can.

Ingredients

Optionally - One egg - White vine - Butter

Preparation

  1. Chop the onion and tomato into small bits. Chop the bacon and/or sausage into 1cm cubes.

  2. Sautae the onion on the oil/lard until it gets glassy.

  3. After the onion is half ready, throw in the bacon and/or sausage and render the fat from them.

  4. After the bacon / sausage is ready, throw in the minced paprika. Be careful, don't burn the paprika, so mix it well, until it received a nice color.

  5. When the paprika is ready, throw in the finely chopped tomatoes and cook them. Since they are small bits, it should not take long.

  6. When the tomato is ready, put in all the canned goods including the tomato paste. Check the amount of water in the canned goods. Don't put it all in, if it's too much. It could overpower the taste.

  7. Add the white vine (if you want to)

  8. Add black pepper and taste it. Should there be anything missing, like salt, put it in. If the mix is too sweet, put a bit of vinegar in.

  9. Cook until finished and getting thick. When it thickens, throw in the egg, if you want a more rich flavor. You can also add a bit of butter to smoothen out the tastes.

Serving

Serve with bread. Enjoy.
